Overview
CCECA serves more than 17,000 members across four East Texas counties. The co-op wanted a site that was easy to navigate, got more members using online tools, and cut down on phone calls and emails. As layout designer on Powerful's team, I turned that strategy into a homepage and page system that members can scan quickly.
The challenge
The homepage had to give electric service, broadband, announcements and co-op programs room without crowding each other. Content like office closures and events had to stay current without extra work for staff. Paper processes had to become online forms, and members needed an easy way to find out who represents them on the board.
Process
We started from Powerful's Halsey blueprint, a layout built around promotions. I organized the homepage into clear sections, each introducing one program with its own call to action. Sections highlight the co-op's Facebook, mobile app and broadband service. An "In the Spotlight" area pulls in news releases automatically. Every page follows Powerful's STAR standard: searchable, translatable, accessible and responsive.
Outcome
The site went live on April 28, 2026, ready to grow with the co-op. Members can apply for the youth seminar online instead of on a PDF, with errors flagged before they submit. They can also enter an address on a map to find their district and board representative. The co-op's broadband administrator called the experience "phenomenal from start to finish."
