Maya Chen, a 28-year-old graphic designer and Nintendo Switch enthusiast in Seattle, Washington, loves immersive gaming and intuitive interfaces. A loyal Nintendo fan, she uses the Nintendo Switch Online app to manage her games and connect with friends but is frustrated by its limitations.
The app’s limited voice chat, missing text messaging, and lack of cloud gaming support hinder her from playing on the go like competitors’ platforms, disrupting her connection with the gaming community and engagement with Nintendo’s ecosystem on her mobile device.
With an interest in improving gaming experiences, I redesigned the Nintendo Switch Online app to address its connectivity, communication, and mobility limitations. Using Photoshop, Figma, and ProtoPie, I developed a refreshed interface and new features to enhance user engagement, streamline interactions, and align with Nintendo’s ecosystem, creating a more intuitive mobile experience.
